Dr. Mohammad Kamal,
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Mohammad Kamal completed his Pathology training at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California, serving as a chief resident. He completed subspecialty fellowship training in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology at UCLA. Dr. Kamal is board certified in Anatomic Pathology.
Dr. Kamal has extensive experience in managing large national pathology laboratories, having served as Medical Director of LabCorp’s Dianon Laboratory and as Chief Medical Officer for PLUS Diagnostics. He is an expert in laboratory quality and has an excellent track record of building quality systems and helping laboratories prepare for and obtain CLIA, CAP and New York State accreditations.
Dr. Kamal is an expert in Gastrointestinal Pathology. He is particularly interested in colon cancer, Barrett’s esophagus and inflammatory bowel disease and frequent lecturer at medical schools and medical conferences throughout the United States and internationally. He was a volunteer clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology at UCLA.
Dr. Jacques Dorcé, Staff Pathologist
Dr. Jacques Dorcé is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Genetics, Cell, and Developmental Biology from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, prior to his Doctor of Medicine degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed his residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. After residency, he stayed on as a Surgical Pathology Fellow, focusing on Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology. After his fellowship he went into private practice in Southern California, where he developed an expertise in Gynecological and Urological pathology. In addition to participating in Omnipathology’s GI program, Dr. Dorcé will be involved in our GYN and GU pathology.
Dr. Ipek Kasimoglu, Staff Pathologist
Dr. Ipek Zeynep Kasimoglu completed her Pathology residency at UC Irvine/UCI Medical Center in Orange County, California. She finished a General Surgical Pathology fellowship at David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles/UCLA. Her fellowship had an emphasis on Gastrointestinal (GI), Genitourinary (GU) and Breast Pathology. During her fellowship, she was responsible for an extensive pathology service, having also served as a Junior Attending. She then went on to complete her training with a Cytopathology fellowship at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California/LAC + USC Medical Center and Keck School of Medicine of USC in Los Angeles, serving as a Chief Fellow. There, she was trained for interventional pathology service, performing ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration biopsies. Before her training, she was a research associate for University of California, San Francisco/UCSF, Department of Pathology.
Dr. Kasimoglu received her medical degree from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey. She is a member of the College of American Pathologists, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the American Society for Clinical Pathologists.
Dr. Kasimoglu will be involved in Omni’s GI, GYN, GU and Breast Pathology services. She will take on a leadership role in our Cytopathology program.
Dr. WILLIAM Temple, Staff Pathologist
Dr. William Temple trained at Ohio State University College of Medicine, with undergraduate majors in both Chemistry and Biology. He undertook an internship and residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of California, San Diego and received his board certification in both clinical and anatomic pathology for the state of California. Following this, he spent 16 years at a County of Los Angeles teaching hospital, actively involved in both teaching and publishing. Since then, he has established and directed several large reference laboratories. His primary field of interest is women’s pathology and with the spread and diagnosis of HPV-induced pathology.
Alexander Bennet, Cytogenetics FISH Supervisor
Alex Bennet holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. Upon graduation, he received formal training in cytogenetics at a clinical genetics laboratory, with an emphasis in fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), where he received CA state licensure as a Clinical Cytogeneticist Scientist with ASCP certification in cytogenetics. After working in leadership roles at various genetics laboratories, Alex was brought on board at OmniPathology to initiate the FISH program, beginning with TERC FISH, Barrett’s Esophagus FISH, and UroVysion. He oversees all aspects of the FISH testing performed at OmniPathology and is interested in developing and validating new assays to keep the lab up to date with advanced cytogenetic testing.
