Dr. Mohammad Kamal,
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Kamal completed his Pathology training at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California, serving as a chief resident. He completed subspecialty fellowship training in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology at UCLA. Dr. Kamal is board certified in Anatomic Pathology.
Dr. Kamal has extensive experience in managing large national pathology laboratories, having served as Medical Director of LabCorp’s Dianon Laboratory and as Chief Medical Officer for PLUS Diagnostics. He is an expert in laboratory quality and has an excellent track record of building quality systems and helping laboratories prepare for and obtain CLIA, CAP and New York State accreditations.
Dr. Kamal is an expert in Gastrointestinal Pathology. He is particularly interested in colon cancer, Barrett’s esophagus and inflammatory bowel disease and frequent lecturer at medical schools and medical conferences throughout the United States and internationally. He is a volunteer clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology at UCLA.
Dr. Chelsea Curry,
Dr. Chelsea Curry joins OmniPathology as an associate pathologist. Dr. Curry brings a unique wealth of knowledge with her background and expertise. She finished her medical school education at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO. Concurrent with her medical education, she completed her Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO.
Dr. Curry completed her Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at The University of Chicago North Shore, serving as chief resident. She then went on to complete a surgical pathology fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. During her fellowship, Dr. Curry rotated at the GI Pathology Department at UCLA and was responsible for the GI pathology service as a junior attending under Dr. Samuel French. Dr. Curry is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathologists and The College of American Pathologists.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Chelsea Curry was a registered dietitian. She worked as a research associate for the University of Kansas Center for Physical Activity and Weight Management in Lawrence, KS before moving on to pharmaceutical research with Vince and Associates Clinical Research in Overland Park, KS.
Dr. Curry will be involved in Omni’s GI Pathology program and will have a leading role in our collaborations with pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners.
Dr. Hong Shen, Associate Pathologist
Dr. Hong Shen is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. She completed her Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. She finished a Surgical Pathology fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Her fellowship was with emphasis on GI, GU and GYN Pathology. Dr. Shen received her medical degree from the Zhejiang Medical University, Hangzhou, China and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Texas Medical Brach at Galveston, Texas. She is a member of the College of American Pathologists, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the American Society for Clinical Pathologists.
Dr. will be involved in our GI, GYN and GU Pathology programs and will be involved in our Urology TC/PC program.
