The leadership team from OmniPathology attended the 31st Annual Executive War College in New Orleans from April 27–30, 2026, joining laboratory and healthcare leaders from across the country to discuss the future of pathology, diagnostics, and healthcare technology.

Representing OmniPathology at the conference were Dr. Mohammad Kamal, Chief Executive Officer, and Dr. Ronald Blum, Vice President of Science and Technology. Widely recognized as one of the premier conferences in laboratory medicine and diagnostics, the Executive War College brings together leaders from pathology, healthcare technology, pharmaceuticals, artificial intelligence, government, investment, and regulatory sectors to address the evolving challenges and opportunities shaping modern healthcare.

A major focus of this year’s conference centered on the growing role of artificial intelligence and digital pathology in improving patient care, enhancing laboratory efficiency, accelerating turnaround times, and expanding access to advanced diagnostic services.

During the Executive Forum on Digital Pathology Management, Dr. Blum presented OmniPathology’s real-world experience transitioning from traditional glass-slide workflows to digital pathology integration within routine clinical practice.

Dr. Blum presents OmniPathology’s transition from glass-slide workflows to digital pathology integration.

OmniPathology is among the first independent pathology laboratories in the nation to successfully implement digital pathology into daily clinical operations — an achievement currently limited to a relatively small number of pathology organizations, many of which are large academic medical centers or major hospital systems.

The laboratory’s continued investment in digital pathology reflects OmniPathology’s broader commitment to innovation, operational efficiency, and improved patient care. These advancements also position the organization for continued growth across additional subspecialty areas, including oral pathology, head and neck pathology, dermatopathology, and clinical trial support services.

“As pathology continues to evolve, digital technologies are becoming increasingly important in supporting diagnostic accuracy, collaboration, and patient care,” said Dr. Kamal. “Our participation in the Executive War College reflects OmniPathology’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of these advancements.”

OmniPathology continues to invest in technologies and workflows designed to support physicians, healthcare providers, and patients through faster, more efficient, and more accessible diagnostic services.
